3 reasons to respect evil Swiss genius Leonhard Euler
- inventing graph theory (for the undeserving idiot townspeople of Königsberg who spent all their free time trying to walk round the town crossing each bridge over the river once and once only, and never figured out it was impossible
- eiπ+1=0 (euler's equation, even though there are about 300 equations called euler's equation)
- the sum from 1 to ∞ of 1/ns is equal to the product from 1 to ∞ of 1/1-pn-s, where pn is the nth prime (possibly also called euler's equation. it and various generalisations are useful for doing things with various zeta functions and using them to prove things about primes)
I still don't like him though. some people are too smart for their own good. go Gauss!
